Who is George?
YOUR GUIDE
I'm George Smith. After graduating from Bangor University in 2022, I worked for the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, first on the Rutland Osprey Project and then as the Trust's Information Officer, running events that helped people feel invested in the wildlife around them.
I founded Root and Wing in 2024 and have since led walks and given talks on everything from badgers and bats to otters and glow-worms. In 2025 I was lucky enough to travel to The Gambia to see ospreys on their wintering grounds.
I am now based between Salisbury and Rutland, guiding private walks in both areas and giving talks to groups throughout the country.
